What I've Learned...

Going through my classmates blogs this evening, I came to the realization that I'm really kind of getting in to this whole blog thing. Although apprehensive to introduce a blog to my classrooms at first, I can really see the benefit of utilizing an online forum to reach out to my students outside (or even inside) the classroom.

I would like to think I am technologically literate, as I use technology daily. I have my phone linked to all my e-mails, with all data capability, I used to work for a production company, I do my best to incorporate technology into the classroom and utilize new online tools, BUT this class is really opening my eyes to the world of technology around me. It really goes to show that there are endless ways to use technology in the classroom and a myriad of websites to help get you started. It seems as though as soon as I finally figure out a new website, or some neat tool, I am introduced to an entirely new site that I want to use. While it can all be overwhelming, I am so intrigued by technology. I want to continue to have this "thirst" for technology education and learn about neat new ways to share with my students.

Not only have I found the sites listed by our instructor helpful, it has truly been the dialogue among classmates and the reading of others' blogs that have helped me discover many of the new great tools. I always feel like some of the best ways to "learn" to be a better teacher or to pick up new skills is to just put a bunch of teachers in a room and allow them to talk. Well...this class has done just that, but put us in a virtual room that has allowed us those capabilities.

I look forward all of the new knowledge I have yet to acquire and hope that I am able to introduce new things to my classmates as well.

  1. Lindsey,
I love your post. As educators, we all have so much to learn from one another. We are all co-collaborators in learning. I am so glad you are seeing the power of personal learning networks. You can technology integration as an educator to a new level. That is the name of the game. Bravo!
